Why I decided to become a dentist … really, I always knew that I wanted to be in the health field. It's just something that always interested me growing up. And I see the difference that doctors make in people's lives. I decided to go and observe some medical doctors and pharmacists and some dentists. And I got to see what a dentist does behind the scenes besides just check your teeth when you get them clean. And I thought it was really great how these patients loved my dentist and the difference he made in their lives and get them out of pain, help them make a difference in the life of their smile, and it was really touching for me to see that, and I wanted a part of that.
Now it's just … I'm with patients, and I just feel like I'm at home. And I feel like I'm making a difference with their lives. And I really love, because I feel I have a special talent that can help somebody come in who's just super scared, super nervous, just don't want to get anything done because of past experiences. And I can communicate with them in a way, show them what's going on, and then by the time they're done with your appointment, they're like, "How do I refer to you?" How happy they are with how I treated them. So I like to see the difference I make in people's lives that a lot of people can't do. And to me, that's just touching. It’s a good feeling.
Dr. Daboul really stands by North Oaks Dental’s motto, “Our family caring for yours.” His favorite part about being a dentist is connecting with his patients and tailoring treatment for each patient that will get them the results they’re looking for. He loves providing care and individual attention to very anxious and frightened patients and watching them become lifelong patients free of dental anxiety.
He takes satisfaction in seeing his staff enjoy being at work. He loves watching them provide top-notch care for our patients and is proud of them as individuals, providers, and a team.
Dr. Daboul graduated in 2008 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. His goal was to have a practice where he could treat his patients and staff like his own family. So, in 2010 he opened the Royal Oak office with the dream of creating an environment people would want to be a part of. He started with no patients and built the practice from scratch.
In the beginning there was one receptionist and one assistant, and Dr. Daboul performed all the teeth cleanings. Today, North Oaks Dental has several dentists, an orthodontist, and hygienists, plus a large staff to care for your whole family. We’ve grown so much that we expanded our office to 13 rooms in 2015. Dr. Daboul is proud of the team we have built and the wonderful patient family we provide dentistry for each day.
Dr. Daboul is a huge advocate of continued education. He loves learning about new dental procedures and improving current ones so he can better care for the smiles of Royal Oak and the surrounding area. He has even trained other dentists in the proper techniques for surgical extractions and dental implants. To better inform his patients, Dr. Daboul published a book titled Getting Ready for Dental Implant Surgery.
Dr. Alvin Daboul has been recognized as an Hour Detroit Top Dentist, an award based on a peer-review survey open to all area dentists. Thousands of votes were cast honoring his excellence in dental care. He was featured in Hour Detroit magazine in July 2019.
Dr. Daboul wants you to know that the team at North Oaks Dental is always here to help you and your family with your dental needs.
When he’s not helping patients at our office, Dr. Daboul enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
