I love working with kids and teens. They bring a different feel to the office, a different vibe. I think the most important thing for me is to help kids feel comfortable at the office.
And a big way that we do that is from right when they walk in, we greet you with a smile. You know, we make sure all your questions are answered. We make sure you’re heard.
And that just makes the process for your kids that much easier. A lot of teenagers might be self-conscious about starting treatment. You know, they might not want all that metal in their mouth.
They might be a little bit embarrassed to go to school, but I always try to let them know, you know, this is going to be really good for your future. We’re going to make sure your smile is really nice and pretty. And that usually eases their anxiety.
If not, you know, we have other ways to, you know, we get to know them, we get to know their hobbies, make sure they feel comfortable. And I think that has really been good for our patients and just helps them feel more comfortable. I really do always want patients to know that orthodontic treatment is not just about straightening your teeth.
It is also about function. So when you get your braces off, I want you to know that, you know, we made sure your bite is perfect and that’s just going to really improve your overall oral health. For anyone that hasn’t met me yet and is thinking about getting braces for themselves or for their child, I want you to know that I always have you guys in mind.
I always ask you guys questions and I want you guys to be part of your orthodontic journey as well. Orthodontics is not just a one size fits all. I want to get your desires and needs and tailor your treatment to what you want.
When a patient finally gets their braces or Invisalign off, that is the best feeling ever for me and for the patient. I get to see them become more confident, be happy and when they’re really happy with their smile, that is the best feeling for me. Especially, you know, when we look at their before photos and a lot of times they forget even how they started and even I forgot how they started.
So just seeing, you know, how far they’ve come and seeing their end result is just a beautiful thing.
