Restore Unhealthy Gums With Comfortable Laser Treatment

Gums are the support structure that keeps your teeth in place. Unhealthy gums have even been linked to conditions such as low birth weight in babies, diabetes, and heart disease. So proactive treatment of disease is important.

Our dentists use the the PerioLase laser to make scaling and root planing quicker and more comfortable. If your gum disease has advanced to the point where we need to remove inflamed gum tissue, our laser:

  • Effectively targets diseased gum tissue without affecting healthy tissue
  • Works quickly with minimal discomfort
  • Removes the need for cutting or sutures
  • Often reduces your treatment cost
  • Cauterizes tissue as your dentist works, which makes infection unlikely and promotes faster healing

Because the laser makes your treatment so quick and gentle, local anesthesia is likely all you’ll need. But if you’re nervous about the procedure or have sensitive gums and/or teeth, you can get dental sedation. Unlike many general dentists, we offer three options: laughing gas, oral sedation, and IV sedation.

If your gums are receding due to gum disease, Dr. Daboul is certified to return them to health with a graftless treatment called the Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique. Dr. Daboul is one of a very small number of doctors certified to perform this procedure. Please note that Dr. Daboul is the only doctor in our practice certified to perform this technique.
