At our office, we offer a variety of options when it comes to sedation. We offer IV sedation, we offer moderate sedation, we offer nitrous gas, which is a conscious sedation, and we like to give our patients the most realistic option and that’s where the new patient screening comes from or the, you know, the initial appointment where we get to see how severe is this anxiety. Is it Are they going to be able to handle being in the dental chair and getting these procedures done with me without having that tormenting feeling or that feeling like they’re being, you know, tortured or they don’t like being there and nobody wants to have that feeling and I don’t want that for my patients.
So if we need to go for a sedation option, I’m always going to recommend that for my patients because one, it’s helping them and it’s helping me as a provider do my work properly and carefully. Otherwise, it’ll create a number of issues and it’ll just create more trauma for the patient. So if the sedation option is the way to go, then it’s the way to go.
