Invisalign is a good candidate for any patient who does not want to go the traditional braces route. They are clear liners that blend in very naturally with your teeth, and the biggest thing about adults getting, you know, braces or any type of ortho work done is having the metal show because they’re so much older and they can’t deal with the aesthetics of having the brackets or having the metal on. Invisalign is a really good alternative because they’re just clear trays that you wear and they have these little attachments that blend in naturally with your tooth structure so it’s as if nothing’s even there, and patients I feel like are very motivated to wear them because they don’t show and they tend to be more compliant with the Invisalign.
There are certain situations where we have to refer to our orthodontist and metal or traditional braces or ceramic braces need to be an option, but usually majority of the time to straighten out crowded teeth or to correct a slight overbite, Invisalign is a really good option and we work with our orthodontist hand-in-hand to see what patients fall into the right category of Invisalign, so a proper consultation needs to be set up so that you could see if you’re a good candidate or see if it’s the right fit for you.
