In between your dental visits, we have a few resources to use to keep your smile bright and healthy.

1. Download Free Dental Apps

More than 77 percent of Americans own a smartphone, and that’s what we’re using to get our news or to look up facts. Along with keeping up with the news or killing time with games, you can use your smartphone to help keep your mouth cleaner. There are a number a free dental apps that can help you. Here are a few:
Brush DJ — This free app guides you to brush your teeth better. The American Dental Association recommends that you brush your teeth twice a day and floss daily. While most of you probably intend to remember this advice, it can be easy to forget. Sometimes we’re too tired to brush or brush thoroughly. The Brush DJ can help with that. The app reminds you when to brush and how long to brush. You can set your favorite music to coordinate with the app. This fun app also has how-to videos and allows you to set notifications for daily hygiene and six-month dental appointments.

Another fun app, called Toothsavers, is for children. This is a game that encourages children to brush away a spell that has swept through the fairy kingdom. This fun game includes multiple characters and gives your child instructions on where to brush in the mouth.

2. Check Out Our Blog and Website

We want to stay in touch with our patients and local residents as often as possible. Obviously, we have a limited amount of time in a day, but we can still stay in touch through our dental blog and website. Unlike some dental offices, our content focuses on how you can benefit from our treatments. Each of our web pages are made to be educational.

We publish our blog every few days, and it includes details about our treatments, at-home hygiene tips, and insightful advice about dental conditions to watch out for. It’s an easy way to stay up-to-day on dental techniques and procedures. Our blog can ease your concerns about your conditions and the possible treatments. This blog is especially helpful if you’ve been away from the dentist for a while. You’ll be amazed at the advances of the dental treatments.

3. Have Missing Teeth? Call the Guy Who Wrote the Book on Implants

Dr. Daboul wrote the book on dental implants to show patients what to expect from their treatment. The book, “Getting Ready For Dental Implant Surgery: A Doctor-Approved Home-Care System For Dental Implant Patient” shows you why dental implants are the strongest tooth replacement options in dentistry and how easy the treatment has become.

At North Oaks Dental, we’re using 3D imaging and technology to place your implants with precision. Our implants are placed with more than a 98 percent success rate. Those are great percentages. In many cases, we can remove failing teeth and place the implants in a single day. We call this our Same-Day Smile. People with dental implants enjoy eating the foods they love, never have to worry about their teeth sliding around, and have a more youthful appearance.
