So dental implants are a great way to restore your teeth. However, many people are afraid of the process. They’re very comfortable to get. Don’t be afraid of dental implants. Once that tooth is gone, there’s no nerve in the jaw. To get a dental implant is not painful. However, we still have patients who are fearful of the procedure. So what we offer is IV sedation, where you can come in with our certified nurse anesthetist, have an IV, doze off, and wake up with your dental implant done. So if you’re at all nervous about a dental implant, come in and meet me so we can talk about each step along the way, and I can show you what you’re gonna go through and give you the confidence that you need to get that dental implant done.
Choose From Three Different Sedation Methods
Every patient is different. That’s why we offer three sedation choices. Each one is designed to help you feel relaxed at a level that’s right for you. Before your visit, we’ll talk with you about your medical history, past dental experiences, and any concerns you may have. Then, we’ll work with you to select the best option for your needs:
- Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) – This is a quick, easy way to reduce anxiety during your visit. You breathe it in through a nose mask. It takes action in minutes. You’ll stay awake but worry-free. The effects wear off quickly.
- Oral Sedation – This is a pill taken before your appointment to help you feel calm and drowsy. You’ll be awake but very relaxed. You may remember very little of the procedure. Be sure to bring someone to drive you home.
- IV Sedation – For a deeper sense of relaxation, IV sedation is administered directly into your bloodstream. It works quickly. We can fine-tune the dosage during treatment. This is ideal for more complex procedures or severe anxiety.
No matter which sedation method you choose, our team will monitor you closely throughout your entire visit. Your safety and comfort are always our top priorities. We’ll check in regularly to ensure you feel okay. We’re always ready to adjust your sedation level or pause treatment if needed.
