Are you struggling with missing teeth or ill-fitting dentures and have considered dental implants? Ten years ago, dental implants weren’t so common. Patients didn’t know about the benefits of dental implants or where to find a good implant dentist.

Our Royal Oak Michigan dental practice, North Oaks Dental, uses dental implants for patients with single missing teeth or those missing entire sections of teeth. We have made a huge effort to provide elite implant services and add new technology that makes these treatments more predictable and comfortable.

Today we want to show you what goes into a planning and placing dental implants. First off, understand that Dr. Daboul has trained extensively in placing dental implants. He has even written a book about what to expect from dental implants.

Assessing You For Dental Implants

At North Oaks Dental, we take several steps to make sure you’re a candidate for dental implants. We need to look at the health of the remaining teeth — if you have those — and the density of the jawbone. Recession of the jawbone is a natural part of losing teeth. A good candidate for dental implants should be in good health and have enough jawbone density to support the implants.

We make that assessment with a special CBCT scanner. Most dentists don’t have access to this technology. It’s so useful because it gives us unique 3-D images of the jawbone and oral cavity. We can find the most appropriate location for the implant to improve the success of the treatment and reduce post-operative sensitivity. With this technology, we can place dental implants with a 98 percent success rate. Here are some other things you should know about we treat patients seeking dental implants:

  • Our office provides free second opinions. We don’t want you to shell out hundreds of dollars to simply find out what’s wrong with your smile.
  • The initial dental implant consultation — where we plan out your treatment — is only $99. Again, this evaluation is often a few hundred dollars. And this $99 charge will be deducted from your overall implant treatment bill.

How You Can Use Dental Implants

Many of the patients who visit our office no longer want to wear removable dentures. They are tired of having their dentures slide around in the mouth and not eating the food they love. For many of these patients, we can place a few dental implants around the arch of the mouth to better stabilize dentures. Your restoration will then snap into the implant and can be easily removed for cleaning. If you’re completely finished with having dentures, we can restore your entire mouth with new arches of implant-supported teeth. These teeth snap into the implants and resemble a bridge. The great part about these implants is that the upper palate remains open, allowing you to taste more food and experience cold and hot sensations in your mouth.

If you have jawbone recession and are not a candidate for traditional implants, we can mini dental implants. These mini dental implants are smaller in diameter but function just like traditional implants.

If you’re looking for more stability in your smile, come to North Oaks Dental. We can repair your existing teeth or rebuild a new smile with dental implants. So give us a call today at 248-712-1522 to schedule a visit.
